Fire crews work to quell flames in the mountainous areas of Greenville and Pickens County.

According to the Greenville County Emergency Management, multiple agencies are attempting to put out large fires in the Persimmon Ridge area of Greenville County. The fires started Saturday and coincided with the fire in Table Rock State Park.

As of Monday morning, none of the fire at Persimmon Ridge was contained.

The nearby Oil Camp area and Cliff Ridge subdivisions were evacuated, emergency management said.

“We ask all citizens to stay clear of these areas for your safety and responder access while they attempt to keep the fire under control,” the emergency management division said in a statement.

The fire started in the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area between Caesars Head State Park and Jones Gap State Park, according to the South Carolina Forestry Commission.

The South Carolina Forestry Commission declared a statewide burn ban on Friday.

In Pickens County, the fires at Table Rock State Park grew to more than 1,000, according to the Pickens County Sheriff's Office. Crews have been unable to contain the fire.

All Table Rock State Park systems, White Oaks campground, Lake Oolenoy, and Lake Pinnacle are all closed until further notice.

Multiple aircraft will be deployed to both fires for water-dropping missions. Additional SCFC aircraft will be in service to provide surveillance.
