Greer Relief is on the move.
The local charity is in its new location at 113 C Berry Avenue in Greer and is grateful for its progress. Tuesday, it celebrated its achievements with a breakfast with local sponsors and beneficiaries at the Memorial United Methodist Church on Main Street in Greer.

Greer Relief reached 14 percent more neighbors with strategic help, preventing more from losing their homes, going hungry, and struggling emotionally.

During the year, the charity helped 7,842 neighbors with cash donations, food, and clothing and taught practical classes on financial management, healthy living, and job skills classes.

Many also benefited from help following Hurricane Helene with food, clothing, cash, and guidance on maximizing aid available through other local charities.

The decades-old charity offers a smorgasbord of services from financial help, a free food pantry, free clothes, case management, tax help, new business consultation, and much more.

Greer Relief started in 1936 to help prevent residents from starving and freezing to death during the Great Depression.

Board members, staff, and beneficiaries offered comments and testimonials.

About 100 were on hand for the festivities and the good food.

Greer Relief also used this occasion to raise money and heighten its awareness in the community so it can continue to expand its reach.
