Earlier this month, Mayor Rick Danner and the Greer City Council declared April 9th as Michael Sibert Day. Sibert is a renowned chef who, on March 4, was featured on a national TV show called “Chopped” and won a prize of $10,000. Sibert was also designated this year by the governor as a South Carolina chef ambassador.

The honor was bestowed on Sibert at a city council meeting with many of his friends and relatives on hand. While on the TV show, Sibert gave several shout-outs about Greer, his new hometown.

Sibert said there are many behind-the-scenes that make his success happen. He’s the owner of Greer's White Wine & Butter at 2299-A Gap Creek Road, Greer, SC.
