Greenville boys basketball sparked run to Upper State final

Greenville coach Mike Anderson benched his two all-state players, Roman Cooley and Caden Coleman, to start the second half as a motivational tactic.
Caden Coleman led Greenville with 15 points, while Tucker Scholl and Roman Cooley each added 14.
Greenville will face Fort Mill in the Upper State final, with the winner advancing to the state championship game on March 7th.
Greenville was desperate for a good start to the second half.

The Red Raiders had fallen behind Riverside by five points at halftime Wednesday night in the Class AAAAA Division 2 high school boys basketball Upper State semifinals game at Slick Moore Gymnasium.
And, to begin that crucial third quarter, their two all-state players, senior Roman Cooley and junior Caden Coleman, were on the bench.

“It was a little message for Roman and Caden to pick it up,” Greenville coach Mike Anderson said. “And they did.”
Cooley re-entered first, Coleman shortly afterward, and Greenville scored 11 consecutive points on the way to a 61-48 victory.
The No. 1 seed Red Raiders (26-2) will play Fort Mill (26-2) at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Florence in the Upper State final for a berth in the March 7 state championship game in Florence.
