Damaged bridges to be replaced in 2025

The South Carolina Department of Transportation will replace 10 bridges damaged by Tropical Storms Debby and Helene. Three bridges and one access road are scheduled for replacement in Greenville County, and one is scheduled for replacement in Spartanburg County.

This work is scheduled for 2025.

SCDOT officials stated that the bridges slated for replacement suffered damage beyond repair, requiring their inclusion in the emergency packages 29, 30, and 31. These packages address the most critical bridge failures and focus on structures impacted by Tropical Storm Debby and Hurricane Helene.

The replacement projects are prioritized to ensure safe and reliable infrastructure for affected communities.

SCDOT's goal is to expedite the construction of the new bridges and minimize disruption to the affected communities.

Construction on these bridge replacements will begin in the winter of 2025. Each project is estimated to take approximately eight months to complete.
